RUS - Repertoire development for singers

**RUS – repertoire development for singers**
Welcome to RUS!
Repertoire Development for Singers (RDS) starts on 15 March
Qualifications
Repertoire Development for Singers is aimed at professional freelance singers or musical artists who have been making a living as a singer for the past three years. Dispensation from the three-year rule can be granted for recently qualified singers. You should have trained at one of the opera colleges/studied music at the Academy of Music and Drama, University of Gothenburg, or have similar musical training, or have trained as a soloist at one of the Swedish colleges of music or their overseas counterparts. In special cases, a well documented professional background may also count.
Singers who have been working within the publically funded cultural sector or who have received a public cultural grant of any kind since 1 January 2007 will be given priority in the event of oversubscription. Preference may also be given to those who work or have worked as freelance singers at opera houses or theatres which receive a publically funded cultural grant or to singers who regularly perform for concert promoters who receive a publically funded concert promoters’ grant from, e.g. The Swedish National Council for Cultural Affairs, county council or municipalities. This also applies to singers who regularly take part as performers in publically funded tours of, e.g. Concerts Sweden, Riksteatern (the Swedish National Provincial Theatre), the provincial music organisation and the like. It also counts if you have performed extensively in a free music group which has received any form of financial grant from The Swedish National Council for Cultural Affairs or if, on at least one occasion, you have received any form of financial grant from the Swedish Arts Council.
